I was born in Haren (Ems), a small town in the north of Germany. After having completed my studies in business administration in Osnabrück, I did my PhD studies at the Department of Economics of the University of Mannheim. I worked as a research and teaching assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Hans Peter Grüner, who was also my PhD advisor. I received my PhD in 2006. In Winter 2012, I joined the faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Philipps-Universität Marburg. I am associate member of the Collaborative Research Center on the Political Economy of Reforms at Mannheim University. My primary research interest is devoted to information transmission and information aggregation in organizations and decision making with constrained information processing capacities.
